While many streaming channels feature content with LGBTQ+ characters and stories, what about queer content made for and by queer people? The following streaming channels offer LGBTQ+ content, centering the narratives of queer and transgender people and are run by LGBTQ+ business owners. Some channels are free, while others charge a fee to access their content. Here are five streaming services you should know about if you love watching LGBTQ+ content. 

Revry

Founded nearly a decade ago, Revry offers free streaming content on its app and several digital channels like Tubi, Philo, Peacock and more. Revry houses a sizable collection of original content, including “Drag Latina” and hosts the annual QueerX Awards. With a mission that includes, “There’s no fee to enjoy Revry’s content, but viewers can support the channel and future content with purchases from its merchandise store

Tello

Founded by director Christin Baker, Tello is the longest-running LGBTQ+ streaming channel. Tello focuses on content by and for queer women and produces its own original feature-length films, including five holiday romances. The channel also offers queer shorts and popular indie films like “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” and “Addicted to Fresno.” Like many streaming services, you can subscribe monthly or yearly or rent selections of Tello’s original content.

Dekkoo

For content focused on queer men, Dekkoo has the goods with the “largest collection of gay films and shows available anywhere.” The subscription-based service offers a monthly option that includes Dekkoo original content, festival favorites and indie films like “Cicada” and “Summer of ’85.” Dekkoo offers a free three-day trial to try out the service.

Lesflicks

“The home of authentic Sapphic stories on screen,” Lesflicks offers a wide variety of shorts, features and content about queer women. The U.K.-based streamer provides new content every Friday and houses exclusives like the Australian web series, “Love Me Lex” about a lesbian finding herself dating again in her 40s. Lesflicks has levels of subscriptions, including one with content appropriate for LGBTQ+ youth and one that gives subscribers access to annual film festivals.

Strong Voices Television (SVTV Network)

SVTV was created to “amplify the voices of all Queer storytellers in television, film, sports, advocacy, and beyond.” Along with films, shorts, and web series, viewers can catch livestreaming sports events like the Amateur Sports Alliance of North America women’s softball championship and the National Gay Basketball Association games. The SVTV app is available on all major streaming devices.
