Wynonna is back and badder than ever. After the beloved show “Wynonna Earp” was canceled by Syfy in 2021, fans fought for over two years to keep the hope of seeing Wynonna, Doc, Waverly, Nicole and the quirky residents of the Ghost River Triangle, alive. That hard work paid off when free streamer Tubi picked up the rights to the series and announced a 90-minute special debuting today—aptly, on Friday the 13th.
“Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” picks up two years after we last saw the Earps. The titular Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) have been hunting demons and counting cards in casinos out West, while Sheriff Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) and Waverly Earp (Dom Provost-Chalkley) have been holding things down in Purgatory. When a new big bad (played by Karen Knox) shows up in town, Wynonna is called home to do what only she and her faithful magical pistol Peacemaker can: send demons back to hell.
While Wynonna and Doc are facing demons and relationship hiccups, married couple Nicole and Waverly are also dealing with their own triumphs and challenges.
News is Out caught up with Barrell and Provost-Chalkley to talk about stepping back into the shoes of Nicole and Waverly, the enduring love of Wayhaught and welcoming a new baddie to town.
“Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” is available now for free on Tubi.
