Currently, recreational marijuana is legal in 26 states and U.S. territories. Voters in Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota will also have their chance to vote for the legalization of recreational marijuana this November. The legal cannabis industry is on track to generate around 40 billion dollars in revenue in 2024.

There are LGBTQ+ cannabis brands and dispensary owners nationwide, from California to New York. Here’s a guide to spending your pink dollars on their green goods.

Cannabis: Cannabis is a plant used for its psychoactive and medicinal properties. It contains compounds called cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, which interact with the body's endocannabinoid system. Cannabis is commonly used for recreational and therapeutic purposes and comes in forms like flower, edibles, oils, and tinctures.

THC: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. It interacts with the brain's cannabinoid receptors, producing effects such as euphoria, relaxation, and altered sensory perception.

CBD: Short for cannabidiol, CBD is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis. Unlike THC, it does not produce a "high" but is used for its potential therapeutic benefits, such as reducing anxiety, pain, and inflammation.
