LGBTQ+ advocate Eboné Bell recently appeared on Comcast Newsmakers to discuss the importance of allies in the continuing fight for LGBTQ+ equality. Bell is the founder of Tagg Magazine and also a founding member of News is Out. Bell travels the country speaking on college campuses and to companies about LGBTQ+ issues, including how allies can make a real difference with it comes to harassment, discrimination and bullying.

Bell also addresses how members of the LGBTQ+ can be allies themselves to other marginalized groups.

“You know, I give the example just because I’m a Black queer woman doesn’t mean that I can’t show up for Latinx communities, I can’t show up for the Asian community or immigrants, whatever that might look like,” said Bell. “There are a lot of causes and people that need us to speak up, especially when those voices are marginalized or sometimes not heard.”
