Jeopardy” champion Amy Schneider will be the grand marshal for the Long Beach Pride Parade 2022, organizers announced today.

Schneider, a software engineer, is the first woman and transgender person to surpass $1 million on the game show. She also is the first member of the LGBTQ community to win $1 million.

Schneider had a 40-game winning streak, the second-longest in “Jeopardy” history, that ended in January.

“We are thrilled to have Amy as our grand marshal this year, as her winning streak earlier this year on Jeopardy allowed America the opportunity to meet a brilliant and personable champion, who also happens to be a trans woman,” said Elsa Martinez, president of Long Beach Pride, said in a press release.

Long Beach Pride will kick-off with a free teen Pride celebration July 8 followed by the festival July 9 and 10 along Shoreline Drive at Rainbow Lagoon and Marina Green.

Music headliners include Iggy Azalea, Natalia Jiménez, and Paulina Rubio.

The festival will have community programming, sponsor activations, a dance tent with circuit music DJs, and food and drinks from local area eateries.

Advance tickets for Long Beach Pride on sale.

The Long Beach Pride Parade 2022 will step off at 10:30 a.m. July 10 at the Intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and head west to Alamitos Avenue.
